Continuing our support for two fantastic charities

We’re extending our fundraising focus on two very worthy causes throughout 2021.

Last year our employees raised £2,500 for Andy’s Man Club and Hull Animal Welfare Trust which was matched by the company. Unfortunately, COVID-19 restrictions meant we were limited to what we could organise and achieve.

Our staff have now voted to continue supporting both charities for a further 12 months so we can build on that sum and we already have a range of fundraising activities planned to build on 2020’s total.

Andy’s Man Club aims to raise awareness of mental health issues among men, encouraging them to talk and open up. The charity is behind the #ITSOKTOTALK movement and is working to halve the number of suicides in men under 45.

Hull Animal Welfare Trust was founded almost 40 years ago to help abandoned and unwanted animals. Now a registered charity, it has rehomed more than 30,000 animals and its South Cave shelter is open all year round.

Our Head of People, Susan Pender, who also sits on our Charity and Gift-Giving Committee, said: “We’re delighted to continue supporting these two fantastic charities. We didn’t raise as much as we’d hoped last year due to the pandemic, but we’re looking forward to building on that this year and making a real difference to these worthy causes.”
