Willerby hosts festive family drive-in movie screenings for employees and their families.
As a way to say thank you for their hard work and celebrate the successes we have achieved as a business in 2020, Willerby recently hosted two drive-in movie nights for our staff. Willerby regularly hosts events for our staff and their families however 2020 has been anything but a normal year and we’ve not had the opportunity to put on such events. A drive-in movie night seemed the perfect opportunity to thank our employees and recognise their hard work and resilience in this challenging year, whilst also ensuring social distancing measures were adhered to.
Over 100 staff booked places at the event over two showings, with 400 people attending in total to watch their choice of How the Grinch Stole Christmas or Polar Express.
Chloe Lidster, Head of Marketing for Willerby said, “A drive-in cinema seemed a great way to reward our staff and celebrate alongside them safely, whilst seeing them enjoy some much needed quality time with their families.
We had some great feedback from the event, with employees commenting that it was great to get out with their kids, and bring a little bit of the Christmas magic that we all need this year.”
Alongside the drive-in movie night, Willerby also hosted a Christmas jumper day and raffle to raise funds in aid of their two charities of the year - Andy’s Man Club and Hull Animal Welfare Trust.
Raffle prizes were a combination of gifts sent in by suppliers that are pooled so that all staff who purchase raffle tickets have an equal chance of winning, and some additional prizes that Willerby contributed, including a ‘duvet day’ (extra holiday day) for one lucky winner!
Thanks to the generosity of our employees, Willerby raised a staggering £1,459.93 from the two fundraising initiatives - this figure will be matched by Willerby and split equally amongst our two nominated charities.
