Q. Tell us about your job and what it involves.
A. I describe myself as a troubleshooter. I love communicating with people and if there’s a problem, I come up with a plan and resolve it. I make sure the right people are involved, the outcome is the right solution and relationships run smoothly.
Q. What’s the best thing about your job?
A. The people. I like everyone I work with, and the customers. I find people interesting and I enjoy that contact and connection, along with the complexity of my role. I like to go home at night knowing I’ve taken care of everything to the best of my ability.
Q. What does being part of the Willerby team mean to you?
A. I’m very proud of what I do and I feel valued. I like being part of a team and I’ve always been a team player. My teamwork ethic has been with me since my early twenties as I have a military background.
Q. If you didn’t work for Willerby and you could do any job in the world, what would it be?
A. A fighter pilot. I’m too old for it now but I’ve always wanted to fly. I’d like to fly anything from a jet to a helicopter or an airliner.
Q. Tell us something people may not know about you.
A. I was a Guardsman at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Clarence House and the Tower of London and I’ve been on active service all over the world.
I once sat in the same room as Tom Cruise and Michael Jackson at Buckingham Palace. Tom was promoting his Mission Impossible film in London and Michael was on his world tour, so they’d come to watch the changing of the Guard. I was also in the Patriot Games film with Harrison Ford and Edward Fox when I was in the Army, as they needed real Guardsmen in the cast.
