In this month’s Team Talk, we catch up with Sinead Baldwin, who has recently been promoted to join the Willerby Bespoke Bill of Materials (BoM) team. Sinead first joined us in July 2018 to cover maternity leave in an administration role in the drawing office.

Q. Tell us about your job and what it involves.

A. I help to work out exactly how much it costs to build a home, based on labour and materials used. We look at everything from the number of screws required to the glue and sealant used.

With Willerby Bespoke, customers choose their furniture and how they want their home to look, and it’s my job to ensure it meets their requirements exactly.

Q. What’s the best thing about your job?

A. I’m enjoying learning a new role and finding out what all of the products are. So much goes into creating a Bespoke home and I’m learning all the time.

Q. What does being part of the Willerby team mean to you?

A. Willerby is a really good company to work for. They were impressed with how I performed while covering the maternity role and I was offered more opportunities. There are so many chances to progress here and you’re not just seen as a number. You’re thanked for a job well done and I feel appreciated and valued.

Q. If you didn’t work for Willerby and you could do any job in the world, what would it be?

A. I’m a huge animal lover and I’d love to work with animals. While I was still at school I completed work experience at a dog kennels and I loved it.

Q. Tell us something people may not know about you.

A. My family emigrated to Perth, Australia, when I was 17, but I didn’t settle there and I came back on my own when I was 19. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do and it has made me who I am today. I’m 31 now, I’m very independent and I take pride in that.
