Willerby team talk - Bex Fountain

25 August 2022

In this month’s Team Talk, we caught up with creative designer Bex Fountain.

Bex joined us three years ago and works as part of the product development team, focusing on our Bespoke Park Homes and Lodges.

Tell us about your job and what it involves.

I work with the product manager on new developments involving our five residential park home models. My role involves everything from changing a colour scheme or layout, to changing a vanity unit to make it simpler for production or refreshing a kitchen area. I use 3D software to help the sales, production and technical teams visualise those changes, as well as answering queries about curtains, blinds and more.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Every day is different, it keeps me busy and I really enjoy it. I’m self-trained on the 3D software and I’ve taught myself how to use the rendering element to bring my drawings to life, which can add lighting and texture. I improve every day and I’m always learning. It’s great to bounce ideas off my colleagues and gain feedback from the team.

What does being part of the Willerby team mean to you?

Willerby is a really good company to work for and everyone wants to same goal. We work together to help each other and I work with nice people. I like our working environment and Willerby is really well known both locally and nationally.

If you didn’t work for Willerby and you could do any job in the world, what would it be?

I’d like to be a vet but I realise it doesn’t just mean cuddling and stroking animals. I’m a real animal lover and I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Louie.

What’s your secret claim to fame?

Outside of work, I’m a part-time fashion blogger and I have 19,400 followers on Instagram. I started it when I lived in London during my university internship in 2013 and I like to promote body positivity. I wear colourful clothes and never wear black. You can follow me @bexjadefountain
