Willerby Live 2020 - WT interview

We caught up with our Digital Marketing Manager Will Turner on the upcoming Willerby live 2020 event and what it could mean for the future of caravan and motorhome shows.

What is Willerby live 2020?

WL20 is the UK’s first (or at least the first that I know of) online holiday home and lodge show. Think of it as the virtual Glastonbury of the caravan industry!

Why is it happening?

We absolutely adore getting to shows up and down the country
but due to Covid-19, we were only able to attend a couple at the front end of the year. So all that considered we’ve decided to flip the usual format by bringing the show to the general public in the form of a fully online digital event.

When is it taking place and how long will it last?

The event will launch on the 23rd of October (which is Friday) and will run through to Sunday the 25th of October. We will be launching fresh content for the entirety of the weekend so be sure to visit each day.

What content will I gain access to?

We soft-launched our 2021 range in early October but this is giving our new homes a worthy platform to shine; we have product highlight videos, interviews, lifestyle videos, 360 tours, and lots of fantastic prizes on offer!

You mentioned prizes! What can I win?

Our spin to win feature gives you more spins the more you interact with the content so be sure to browse the site. On offer, we have a Karcher jet wash, an Amazon FireStick, a FitBit, a Swan coffee machine, a Google Nest Mini, a Marshall portable speaker plus we have 50 Willerby goody bags!

Can I still access the content after the weekend has finished?

Of course! The video content will be available through our YouTube channel and the 360 content will be on our product pages over on willerby.com

Can I access Willerby Live at any time over the weekend?

Indeed you can, we will launch on Friday and you’ll be able to add events to your own calendar ensuring you don’t miss the great content launching throughout the weekend

Are you launching any new products or features?

We are properly launching our new models the Dorchester, Malton, Manor, and the Brookwood (a personal favourite), we will also be introducing our festival-like page that will host all of our content.

How does a virtual tour work?

We use a Matterport camera (similar to Google street view) to capture our 3D virtual tours. This bit of kit is loaded with nine cameras and does a 360 spin taking 1000s of pictures in the blink of an eye then stitches them together simultaneously much like how the panoramic feature works on a smartphone.

Am I allowed to ask questions?

Yes, of course! In fact, we encourage you to ask us questions; it could be about our homes, the buying process, or even finding your perfect park. We will do everything we can to help, they’ll be a specified place (Speak to us) for people to get in touch via email, phone, or webchat.

I don't know where to start looking for a holiday park, can you help?

Absolutely, we have an extended team of experts in the field all over the country who can help in finding that right park for you.

Are people still able to visit a showground?

You can! We even have put together some content that takes you through what will happen during your visit.
